Solar energy remains profitable – we have compiled all the important information about the innovations for you.

The new Solar Peak Demand Act , also known as the “Electricity Peak Demand Act,” has been in effect since February 20, 2025. It affects, among other things, the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) and introduces important changes for operators of solar systems. The goal is to better integrate renewable energies into the power grid and increase grid stability.

On particularly sunny days, more solar power is already produced than consumed. The excess energy generated was previously fully compensated and fed into the grid as surplus – which could lead to instability and overload. The Solar Peak Power Act represents a much-needed development in this area .

This also means new opportunities for plant operators : they can increase the profitability of their plant with intelligent energy management and power storage .
